More about Christmas II

Consider this theme epiphany, which is not too far from the truth. I want you readers to know that I received a boatload of Christmas cards this week through my friend Abigail, who just returned from the states. Evidently, someone I know and love cleverly figured out that I could be the recipient of letters, just like the shut-ins. I could not believe my eyes when Abbey dropped off the package. I haven't counted, but I'm sure I've got at least 100 cards to open. Well, now maybe only 50 left to open. I can't begin to tell you how much fun it is to OPEN MAIL! I am just loving all the great wishes and Christmas greetings. So what if its the middle of January? I hope the senders don't all expect a reply, or I'm in trouble! I will just say from the blog, that I am thrilled to be given such an outpouring of love. It is so encouraging. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Dear Jane,
As always, it is so good to read your blog. And, I know that you will definitely need to write a book when you return. You have seen and done some very interesting and great things. I wanted to find out from you how to get into the picture. The pic of myself, Shirley and Dottie has not appeared with the note. Would like to know what I am missing. Know that you are loved, Barb H.

Hi Barb: As soon as I saw your comment, I went to Congo Scenes to check it out and sure enough, I had the same situation--text but no photo. I saw a tiny square in the left corner of the post, and clicked on it. Within seconds, the photo appeared. Perhaps you could try that? I don't know exactly what has happened, but I am working on a Macintosh, which occasionally can cause a communication breakdown. Hope you can pick up the photo--it's great! JHD

Jane - Darren and I got your e-mail from December 26 and have replied a few times from a few different e-mail addresses and haven't heard back from you in regard to your question. We're worried that our e-mails are not getting through to you and thought we'd try to contact you this way. Have any of our e-mails gotten through to you?

Lisa

Dear Jane,
It is me again. I have not been able to see the picture. I have clicked on the tiny square on the left corner and nothing happens. Maybe you can try again! Would love to see the picture. I remember when you took the picture of us before you embarked on your traveling experience. Thanks for staying in touch. Know that you are loved and also in our prayers, Barb H.

Hi Barb: I got your email and added a second photo, which is really the first! I don't have any idea what's going on with that. Sorry, but I think you should see it now. Let me know if you can't! Love & prayers back! JHD

Hi Lisa and Darren: Thanks for being persistent! I'm not sure why my Mac thinks it should filter your messages out, but I'm really here at the end of the world! Glad you're enjoying the Fall Street house. I hear you're taking great care of it, too. Thanks so much! Jane

Dear Jane: Kinshasha streets sound like the Mesa Flea Market - you name it, they've got it - for a price. Your experiences are priceless and we truly appreciate your sharing them with us. The photo came through today but not a few days ago. They also add to your epistles. Last night we went to a Southern Gospel Quartet concert at church (great) and tonight is the class on Revelation. Sunday we had lunch with the VanderHydes - soon to be 2nd CRCrs. Our congregation is experiencing health issues - you may already know, but John Bosma has had surgery, you probably read about Lloyd Hoekenga in the bulletin; Dudley is progressing. Were you aware that Jim Split passed away Tuesday in Alabama. He's had a long hard road & he & Barb surely fought the good fight. All is well here - we did need a garage door since Pete drove into it (and two bikes) but we already replaced it so no need to look in Kinshasha. Love & prayers - Pete & Carolyn
