Another milestone
This has been quite an eventful week. On Tuesday, my youngest daughter, Virginia had her first baby, my first grandchild. Then on Saturday, my only son, David, got married to Angie, so I gained a daughter-in-law! How's that for excitement? The wedding was in Washington, D.C. I'm including a photo of the beautiful bride and good-looking groom. Also included in the candid is daughter Grace, and her husband, Jon. I'll tell you about them in another episode. Yes, that's me on the left.
Here are a few specifics about David and Angie. They met in D.C. at a party given by a mutual friend, who turned out to be an incredible wedding coordinator! David works for the U.S. Air Force as a civilian and is completing a master's in international relations from George Washington University. His new bride just completed her master's in the same subject from the same institution and has a job in her field. They will be living in their new apartment in Rosslyn, close to their places of work, a rarity in D.C.!

How thrilling! You & your family are on a wonderful whirlwind. The family wedding photo is magnificent-all are beautiful people. Angie is beautiful, David is handsome, Grace & John are a lovely mature couple & mother is radiant - Congratulations to all & best wishes to the newlyweds. Will be looking forward to Sarah Grace sometime after Tuesday. In the meantime, catch your breath & enjoy the excitement. Love, Carolyn & Pete
Hi Jane,
How exciting to read your blog! I just heard about it this morning from Barb H.
Congratulations on the many exciting events happening in your family! It's good that you will be able to see lots of picture of Sadie through e-mail. In my opinion, the picture of Sadie on the church's site looks like David. Does anyone else see the resemblance?
I hope we get to see you before you leave for the Congo!
love,
Mary & Gord
Pete and Carolyn: Thanks for your encouragement! It was great to get to sit next to you both at the "Hospitality Inservice" yesterday. I have a feeling I will have a greater understanding of what it means to be "the stranger" when I arrive in Congo. We can always learn more! Keep in touch.
Hi Mary: I agree--the photo does look alot like David. I'm so glad I bought a new camera in order to take photos of the baby--! Going to Congo was just an excuse to buy it! Have you got time for one last bike around the lake this week? All this chatter about being pressed for time--bah! Priorities! Call me. JHD
